A Moving Experience

It's been just over three weeks since we moved into our new home; Lucy, Lilly and Molly are all getting settled and used to the new routine. My husband and I are still in what I call the Google stage where one of us is always searching for something!

Our moving experience was exactly that!...an experience. It was close to 11 p.m. when we finally finished stuffing the U-haul truck, Lucy was anxious although she wasn't sure why, just that something was happening. We got the cat carriers and made them comfortable for Lilly and Molly. Lilly climbed in without a hitch, Molly on the other hand; rebelled! As I tried to coax her to go through the carrier door, I suddenly realized what a FAT cat she has turned into! Ten minutes later and with a final loving push...in she went!

With a heavy heart we bid farewell to our old home and headed out. Ron was truck driver, I was animal control following in his pickup with Lucy and her 'sisters'.

We weren't out of the driveway when it started, Molly who rode with Lucy in the back seat started Meowing! It was that screeching meow that cats make should you accidently step on their tail. Lucy answered with a low whine. Lilly in the front seat would occasionally let out with an "OW" and then rattle the door of her carrier. I just knew it was going to be a long night!

For the next three and half hours I talked, I sang, I whistled to entertain my pet family! Lucy finally decided to go to sleep, and I could hear Lilly half snoring next to me. Molly, however, didn't give up, for the entire trip she complained...LOUDLY!

It was just after 4 p.m. when we reached our new address, we would have been there a bit sooner, if someone hadn't missed the house and drove right past...we won't mention any names!

With all the new sights and sounds of the mountains, I know there are a lot of new adventures just around the corner!

More to come...
