Mountains And Valleys And...Bears? Oh My!

The past several weeks have been extremely hectic as we prepare to make our big move to the mountains. Lucy has checked out the area is is delighted with all the new places to explore!

Lilly and Molly, on the other hand, are totally confused with all the changes within our current house, like stacks of plastic totes to pack and the rearrangement of furniture.

The cats are so set in their ways and don't take kindly to a lot of turmoil, but I know for a fact that they have been having fun playing hide and seek amid the chaos and even Lucy has joined in!

I realize that moving is a stressful time for animals, and I know Lucy will adapt quicker than her 'sisters' so I'm counting on her to be the comfort zone for them.

As long as there is a warm spot to snooze together I know they will all be fine...now if I could just teach them to wrap dishes!

More to come...

Was It Something I Said?

I would be willing to bet that I'm not the only person that has conversations with their dog, especially when no one else is around. Actually, Lucy is a great listener, she hangs on my every word and with just a change in pitch she becomes a wonderfully animated creature. Her tail becomes a windfarm at the mention of the word 'biscuit', and her exuberance when asked if she wants to go for a ride sends every rug in the house flying!

It is my belief that a dog will respond to the amount of attention we give them, sort of like a child but without expense of a college education!

The other day, I was in the kitchen cutting up vegetables, Lucy was keeping vigil in the event of a wayward carrot and as I chopped I grumbled out loud about the price of food, the cost of gas, the economic condition in general. Lucy pricked her ears listening for a familiar word, when none came she ambled off toward the den, I continued to chop in silence.

Maybe she found that conversation a bit overwhelming!

More to come...
