The Difference Between Dogs and Cats...

Have you ever heard the quote about what a dog thinks? "My people keep me warm and dry, feed me good food, pet me, brush me and play with me. They must be gods."

However, cats think completely differently, "My people keep me warm and dry, feed me good food, pet me, brush me and play with me. I must be a god."


I'm not sure who said that but they sure must have been a pet owner!

While cleaning out some files, I came across these old pictures of 'the girls'. Lilly was quite young and at that time was allowed outside, which she no longer is, since loosing our poor Winston to a Coyote. We had just gotten Molly and she was so thin! This was Lucy's first hair cut...I'm not sure if she was too thrilled with the bows!

Boney Maroney...and Other Things of Joy!

The other day Lucy was chomping on her Nylar Bone and it started me thinking about how little it really takes to make a dog happy. The Boney Maroney, as we call it, is her favorite and I think that it has deterred her from possibly chewing the legs of the couch! It is also the first thing she grabs when company arrives, not to hide it but to present it to you!

Other things of joy for Lucy are squeaky toys, which she will almost drive you crazy with...actually I think she knows this and squeaks them all the more! Old Mother Hubbard dog biscuits, string cheese and belly rubs also rank high on her list, not to mention sleeping on our bed, playing with Lilly and Molly, long walks and truck rides.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all be so happy with such simple joys?
