I'd Like To Thank The Academy...

What I meant to say was that I would like to thank my friend Dory over at Dory's Backyard for giving me this nifty award!

Dory told me that before I pass it on, I am suppose to tell you a story about something I ate that was not part of my regular diet! Well, my Mom says that I'm really a pretty good girl and I don't get into too much trouble...except a couple of times, maybe three.

Let's see...the worse thing I ate, according to Mom were the twig legs off a sheep that one of her primitive dolls was holding, it wasn't like it was a real sheep!...umm...then I pulled all the hair off the doll's head and for dessert I ate her nose! I got into BIG trouble for that!

Mom was yelling at me, then I gave her my 'who me?' look and the next thing she was laughing...well she tried to hide it...but I know she was.

I also have a fondness for boxes of Kleenex, but only if you leave them with me in the car. One time Mom thought there had been a blizzard in the back seat!

Okay, enough about moi, it's time to share my award!

I would like to present it to my friend Bailey the Golden Retriever.
Last but not least, my new friend Lucy at Lucy's Cat Lounge.

If you accept the 'Oops I Ate Award', please fess up to what you ate on your blog. Passing the award on is optional.

All this awarding has worn me out completely!

Keep On Truckin'

It's not news that Lucy loves to go for a ride, especially in her Dad's truck. It's high up and she has a great view of the road. We recently took a drive along the Mohawk Trail and stopped briefly at Whitcomb Summit in Florida, Massachusetts.

The summit is home to the Elk Memorial.

Lucy wasn't quite sure what to make of the large bronze elk staring down at her. Surprisingly, she didn't bark!
I will be featuring the Elk Memorial on a future posting at my

In Lucy's Own Words

Hello Fellow Blog Dogs, Cats, Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, Rats, Mice, Ferrets and all other pests pets!

I am so excited 'cause today, I, Lucy get to do my own bloggin'! It has been a very busy day so far...this morning I went to the 'spa', I needed a hair cut, so said Mom. I wasn't too crazy about going!

I really like the lady that takes care of me there, and I'm always glad to see her. Then she repays my 'happy to see you mood' by putting me in this big metal sink thingy and dousing me with water! You might think I was on fire! Meanwhile,as this is all going on, Mom deserts me!

Then the lady, that I thought was my friend, gets out these clippy things that buzz like a swarm of buzzy bees, I really hate that! As soon as she stops with that and I start to feel relaxed, she comes at me with a blowy machine. I hate that too! Then, I even hate to think about it...she clips my nails...I REALLY hate that! I was trying to be a good dog, but this lady was really pushing it! Finally she ties this green cloth around my neck and says the best words I ever heard, "All done!"

Then like magic, Mom showed up. She said that I looked be-u-ti-ful! Mom talks weird sometimes, like she makes up words or something.

On the way home, it started to rain, just what I wanted was another shower! Oh and of course Mom had to take a picture. (Picture above, that's me looking at Mom looking at me in the car. I think she was getting wet!)

Anyway, by the time we got to our house it had stopped and Mom wanted one more picture, sometimes she is such a pain with her camera...but I decided to make her happy and smile!

Now it's time for my afternoon nap, bye for now!

Remembering Winston

Winston
1994 - 2004

Before Lucy or Molly and Lilly, there was Winston; a handsome gray tabby with beautiful green eyes...our big baby!

On a hot August morning in 2004, Winston was killed by a coyote that had wandered into our backyard.

The sweetest cat we've ever known and greatly missed by his
'Mom and Dad'.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

It's hard to believe that Lucy has been part of our family two years this month. If you haven't read my earlier postings, I will tell you that we were blessed with Lucy when she was eight months old, given to us by a good friend who was unable to keep her.

These pictures were taken when Lucy was about 4 months old. She is a wonderful companion and a great deal of fun, and there is no doubt that 'We Love Lucy'.

License And Registration, Please!

Lucy is such a wonderful companion, she loves to go everywhere with us and we take her just about everywhere. One of her favorite things to do is accompany me on my quest to find 'perfect pictures' for my Barnyards and Barnacles blog.

The other day, I had made a quick stop to take a shot and when I turned around, guess who was driving! Now if I can just get her to pay my insurance!

The Muggies

The past few days have been extremely humid, the kind of days that you sweat doing nothing. Lucy dragged out several of her 'buddies' to play with and then decided it was just too, darn hot!

Sing Along With Lucy

Ever since Lucy became part of our family, I have always sung 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds', however, only when we are together and out of earshot of anyone else!

Well, Lucy would like me to tell you that she is excited that finally she has music on her blog...and guess what song!

If you prefer silence while you visit, just scroll down to the bottom and click on the round button to turn off the music, Lucy won't know...or will she?

Good Golly, Miss Molly!

Lucy is being lazy in the sun, so today is Molly's turn to be in the 'spotlight'. We adopted Molly from our local Animal Rescue League when she was about 10 months old, she is now around 7 years. Even though she has Lilly, her adopted feline sister, Molly relates more to Lucy and actually acts more like a dog than a cat. She has learned some tricks, responds very well to whistles and follows me around like a puppy. Oh, not to forget that she loves to snuggle at night...great fun when it's about 80 degrees!

The first picture was taken a couple of days after she became part of our family. She was nothing but skin and bones, and we used to say that she could fit inside the cardboard tube in the paper towel.

Well, not anymore! Molly is not a big eater and she has tons of energy but as you can see in the following picture, she certainly has lost her girlish figure! She's healthy and happy...but maybe a candidate for Jenny Craig!

Does this fur make me look fat?
